Shri Rajeev Sehgal is a distinguished alumnus of NIT, Durgapur in Metallurgy. He started his career from Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL in 1985 and had worked in Steel Meting Shops in various capacities. He was elevated to the post of Executive Director(Works), Durgapur Steel Plant, SAIL in 2019 and had worked of Executive Director(Works), Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL in 2020 before moving to the Current Assignment as Executive Director, Sail Refractory Unit, SAIL.
He is a metallurgist having an expertise of 37 years technical and managerial skills to formulate the competent team to achieve the Goal of the Organization in general & in Steel Making in particular. His co-ordination, planning, review and monitoring is unparalleled. He has represented SAIL-BSP in various International Conferences and was involved in development and successful establishment of process route of various special quality steels such as DMR, LPG, EDD, Boiler Grades, UTS-110-R260 (less than 20 ppm O2 and micro alloyed).
He has undergone training in USSR for Steel Making Technology in 1989, in NKK, JAPAN for Special Steel Technology in 1992 and in HEC-PARIS for Specialized Management Training.
He was awarded Young Metallurgist Award in 1992 by Institute of Engineers, Bhilai Chapter.
